Mabel Juergens Knippel

Mabel Juergens Knippel of Frelsburg died Friday, June 9, 2017. Visitation will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church in Fayettevile on June 13, 2017 from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services for Mabel will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Fayetteville. Interment will follow in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Fayetteville. Mabel was born on Oct. 10, 1927 in Rock House (Industry) to Conrad Juergens and Carrie Juergens. She was the oldest of three children. She married Fred (F.C.) Knippel on June 9, 1946. Mabel attended Rock House school and then graduated from Fayetteville High School. After her and F.C. married, they owned and operated a dairy farm and she worked side by side with F.C. After retiring from the dairy she worked at Fayetteville Bank for 20 years. She also retired from there. Mabel loved her yard and all her plants. She had a green thumb when it came to plants. She loved canning, especially pickles which the children and grandchildren loved. She was very active with St. John’s Catholic Church in Fayetteville where she was a member of the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America and choir for many years. Mabel was also head of the lunch committee for funerals and in charge of the clerical endowment fund. She is survived by three daughters, Judy Burklund of Brenham, Jayne Neumann of Brenham and Janice Knippel of Bryan; brother-in-law, Raymond Foerster of New Ulm; grandchildren, Bridget Braneff and husband Doug of Bastrop, Nicole Kelm and husband Chris of Coupland, Craig Neumann and wife Becky of Frelsburg, Angela Moore and husband Kevin of Frelsburg; 11 great-grandchildren; five greatgreat- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband F.C.; parents, Conrad and Carrie Juergens Sr.; fatherin- law and mother-in-law, Fred and Wilma Knippel Sr; brother, Conrad Juergens and wife Susie; sister, JoAnn Foerster; brotherin- law and sister-in-law, Ray and Doris Pazderny; and brother-inlaw and sister-in-law, Abner and Dainty Jackson. Family suggests contributions be made to St. John’s Catholic Church in Fayetteville, Hospice Care of your choice, or charity of one’s choice. Fayette Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
