Guevara

Carlos Mendoza Guevara, 62, of Round Top, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017. Carlos was born in Mexico on Oct. 6, 1954, the son of Jose Guevara and So Corro Mendoza. Carlos worked in the Fayette County area for many years as a carpenter. Carlos was of the Catholic faith, and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church of La Grange, Texas. His greatest enjoyment was his love for his children and helping out his community especially using his talent of carpentry work. He is survived by son, Carlos Guevara, Jr., of La Grange, daughter, Jacqueline Guevara, of La Grange, four sisters: Berta Guevara Mendoza and husband, Carlos Rosalases Monteir of Mexico; Virginia Guevara Mendoza and husband, Salvador Leyra of Mexico; Maria De Los Angeles Guevara Mendoza and husband, Jorge Berzzra of Mexico; and Thersea Guevara Mendoza and husband, David Servin of Mexico; two brothers: Augustin Guevara Mendoza of Round Top.; and Rafael Guevara Mendoza and wife, Lupita Guevara of Cicero, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 539 E. Pearl St. in La Grange, at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 14, 2017. Burial followed at Florida Chapel Cemetery in Round Top. A rosary was recited prior to the funeral service beginning at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Chance Emporium, 529 W. Travis St., La Grange, Texas or to a charity of one’s choice. Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home in La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
