LG Police Officers Hand Out $100 Bills to Motorists for Christmas

La Grange Police Officer Mitchel Maxwell pulled a bunch of people over last Friday. But instead of writing tickets, he handed out some Christmas Cheer in the form of $100 bills.

An anonymous man in town dropped off fifty $100 bills at the police department last week with instruction to hand them out as Christmas gifts to good drivers. The Record rode along with Maxwell Friday afternoon while he worked the Christmas patrol. Chief David Gilbreath assigned him five white envelopes that afternoon, each with a crisp new Benjamin inside.

“We’re looking for people driving the speed limit and properly using their turn signals, then we’re going to light ‘em up” Maxwell said.
