For many of us, our cell phones have become just as important as our wallets, (if not more so). We use them to communicate with our friends and family and many people have decided to disconnect their land lines to opt for a cell phone-only lifestyle.

No one has ever accused me of having a “green thumb,” that was more my mother’s forte. She could take a cutting from a plant, place it in water, have it transplanted into a pot after a few days or weeks and keep it alive for years.

Normally I get concerned when I receive a phone call from a disgruntled customer. It is my job to make sure that ads are properly placed, and that news stories are properly addressed.

It’s hunting season – deer hunting season, that is. My husband, son, sons-in-law and daughter all bow hunt, so deer hunting season at our house begins in October. I like it when deer season is here. Especially when a deer is harvested and we get some venison on the table.

When I first heard of the hospital board’s decision to close the birthing center, I will admit that I was angry – very angry.
I agreed with the many who were voicing concerns of “What is this going to do to the hospital?” “How is this going to affect our community?”

Another crisis. This time it is the shooting in Las Vegas.
There have been many lately. These crises have occurred in multiples recently. Hurricanes followed by flooding followed by the mass shooting in Las Vegas.
