The City of Fayetteville has recently announced the retirement of two long-standing City employees, siblings Genelle (Schmitt) Wied and Sylvester “Bob” Schmitt, Jr.

Chloe Ritch recently asked for donations to the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter in La Grange instead of gifts for herself. She is the Daughter of Patrick and Keelia Ritch. Her birthday party and donations were made Dec. 28, 2016
Monroe Schubert was the pitmaster at Prause’s Meat Market for over 30 years. He died last Saturday, but is fondly remebered by his coworkers at Prause's.

Megan Tieken and Jason Benson were united in marriage at 4 p.m. on Dec. 17, 2016 at Vista West Ranch in Dripping Springs. The bride is the daughter of Gerald and Barbara Tieken of La Grange and Ruth Parker of Gonzales.

Dr. Nripendra “Nippon” Sarker and his wife Minu from College Station were the hosts for a Bangladesh-style noon meal, which they brought to the home of Ottto Kunze on Saturday, Jan. 7. Otto’s son Glenn was also there to enjoy the occasion.

There is one other addition to the Little Free Library (LFL) in the La Grange area located on the esplanade across from 310 Valley View Drive. The fi rst Little Free Library in La Grange was chartered in September of 2015. An additional one has since been added.
