The Catholic Daughters of Queen of the Holy Rosary Court No. 2282 presented Assistant Fire Chief Todd Johnson of the La Grange Volunteer Fire Department a $150 donation at their December meeting.

Whataburger of La Grange made a $1,000 donation to the AMEN Food Pantry Thursday. The money came from Whataburger customers who were asked to donate to the pantry in exchange for a coupon for a free burger.

La Grange Lions Club member Sonny Applebee presented memorabilia that was kept by his grandmother to fellow Lion Charles Murray for safekeeping in the Heroes Museum in La Grange.

Kolby Kolek was honored on Senior Day at the Texas State Football game Saturday December 3. Kolby joined the Bobcats as a walk-on in the Spring of 2014. He played special teams and was a back-up wide receiver earning a full scholarship for the 2016-2017 school year.

The La Grange Bluebonnet Lions Club installed their newest member, Suzette Zarr, recently at their meeting held at Sealand Restaurant. Suzette was installed by Lions District 2S-5, Zone 2-B Chairperson, George Nash and was sponsored by Dale Throckmorton, Bluebonnet President.

La Grange Main Street hosted a Christmas ornament decorating contest to coincide with our Schmeckenfest festivities. One winner per grade level was selected and received a $25 gift card. The gift cards were sponsored by Pioneer Bank.
