Kourtney Burton, a 6th grade student at Hermes/Intermediate School in La Grange, has taken the first step to becoming an internationally recognized artist by winning a local competition sponsored by the La Grange Bluebonnet Lions Club.

Volunteers with the Texas Ramp Project teamed up with Farmers Lumber Company on Tuesday, Nov. 1, to build a wheelchair ramp for Jim Matheson, a retired Farmers employee who recently suffered some health problems.

All in an autumn evening, a group of childhood classmates gathered together on the lawn of their alma mater to celebrate victories, trials, growing-pains, laughter, tears and many memories of their beloved La Grange High School.

Hostyn Catholic Daughters, Court Queen of the Holy Rosary #2282, participated in the KC/CDA Rosary and Memorial Mass on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at Sacred Heart Church.
The Tri-County Adult Sports Association held its first annual Emily Fritsch Memorial Softball Tournament Aug. 18 at the fairgrounds fields in La Grange. All proceeds from the event, $4,759, raised from entry fees and the auction, were donated to the Emily Fritsch Memorial Scholarship Fund.
