Brady and Jennifer Goehring of Rosenberg announce the birth of their daughter Blayne Addison, born Friday, April 1 at 5:07 a.m. at Houston Methodist Sugarland Hospital. She weighed 8 lbs. and 7 ozs. and was 20.5 inches long.

An estimated 3,000 people attended the third annual Schulenburg Sausagefest on Saturday, April 2. Organizers said it was the biggest festival so far, with attendees traveling from as far away as Dallas and Nacogdoches.

A competition team stuffs sausage on Main Street in Schulenburg during the 2014 Schulenburg Sausage fest. The third annual event takes place this Saturday. Music starts at noon with performances by the Shiner Hobo Band, Czechaholics, Mark Halata and Texavia and Texas Dream.

Sacred Heart Altar Society members met on Monday, March 7 in the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz Parish Center. President Karen Janda called the meeting to order at 6 p.m. and led members in the opening prayer. There were twenty members in attendance.
