Giddings Sweeps Soccer Doubleheader Vs. La Grange

The La Grange boys soccer team lost to Giddings 3-0 while the girls soccer team lost to Giddings 7-1 Friday at Leopard Stadium.

La Grange’s only goal was scored by Brooke Naiser off an assist from Carolina Soto.

 

La Grange Girls Clinch Runner-Up Spot in District 20-4A Basketball

The La Grange girls basketball team travelled to Caldwell Tuesday and downed the Lady Hornets 54-22.

The victory clinched the runner-up spot in the District 20- 4A standings for the Lady Leps.

Jahze Woods scored a team high 14 points Tuesday, and Taylor Thomas added 13.

Fayetteville had a lot to cheer about on homecoming night Friday as the Lions and Lady Lions swept Round Top-Carmine in a basketball doubleheader.

The Lady Lions beat the Cubettes 44-24, led by a 28-point night by Amber Canik.

On Friday the La Grange girls soccer team beat Gonzales 2-1 at Leopard Stadium.

Shelby Hofferek scored the first goal of the night for the Lady Leps and Brooke Naiser kicked the eventual game-winner on a penalty kick.

Defensive standout was Joana Rodriguez.

 

Schulenburg Girls First County Team to 25 Wins

The Schulenburg girls basketball team became the first team from Fayette County to reach the 25-win plateau this season with a 50-29 victory over Randolph Tuesday.

Chelsea Stewart led the Lady Horns in scoring with 13 points. The Lady Horns are now 25-7 overall and 8-2 in district.

Powell’s 42 Points Powers Leps Past Smithville 70-64

The La Grange boys earned their most important win of the season, with the single greatest individual hoops performance by a Lep in several years.

La Grange’s Kayton Powell scored an amazing 42 points as the Leps fended off the Tigers 70-64 Tuesday in Smithville.
