On Friday, December 15, Santa Claus took time out of his busy schedule to stop by Fayetteville ISD. An early Christmas gift of $4,800 was presented by the Fayetteville Cycling Club to school superintendent Jeff Harvey.

The Schulenburg girls won their district opener Tuesday, smashing Nixon-Smiley 65-16, led by Deadra Jackson’s 14 points. Chelsea Stewart scored 12 points and Brynlee Hollas added 10.
The Lady Horns are 14-4 overall and 1-0 in district.

The Fayetteville boys basketball team has had a lot of big victories this season, but Tuesday’s might have been the biggest so far. The 1A Lions beat the visiting 4A La Grange Leopards 63-42.

On Saturday, Nov. 11, Texas six-man football history was made in Gholson, Texas. Eight of the top ranked six man football teams from across Texas met in the Inaugural Six Man Independent Bowl Series.

The Fayetteville boys basketball team won their home basketball tournament last week, as the Lions won all four games they played, including a 61-53 victory over Bastrop Tribe Homeschool in the title game Saturday.
