Three Fayette County teams won district volleyball matches Tuesday.

Flatonia continued their bounce back from early season struggles to beat Louise in four sets to improve to 3-0 in district even though the Lady Bulldogs are just 5-19 overall.

Luling Shuts Down Schulenburg 13-0

The season opener for the Schulenburg football was ruined by Luling as the Eagles beat the Shorthorns 13-0.

Overall the stats were pretty similar as Schulenburg gained 201 total yards to Luling’s 182. The Shorthorns forced three fumbles but gave away the ball twice via interceptions.

BELTON – Argyle seemed so nice at first.

Before Friday’s game Argyle students made a donation of more than $1,000 to La Grange for flood relief.

Once the game began, however, any kindness from Argyle ceased as the No. 4 Eagles blasted La Grange 70-0.

Tuesday marked a return to the court for the La Grange volleyball team after a week and a half away from the game because of Hurricane Harvey.

J.K. Dobbins is racking up the awards in the aftermath of his stellar college debut last week with Ohio State.

Dobbins received the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose National Player of the Week award Tuesday, just a day after winning Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Week honors.
