Roy Gene Brendle

Roy Gene Brendle, 68, of Houston, died Oct. 23, 2013 in Houston after a lengthy illness. He was born on Aug. 30, 1945  to Erwin William and Mary Bertha (Boettcher) Brendle in La Grange. On Oct. 12, 1974 he married Ellen Wienken in  Columbus. Roy retired after 30 plus years working for CGG Veritas as a telecommunication analyst and lived 40 years  in Houston. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Sons of Hermann in Rutersville, and a life member  of NRA. He served in the US Navy from August 1968 to August 1972 in the Vietnam War. Roy is survived by his wife, Ellen Wienken Brendle of Houston and son, Eric Ryan Brendle and wife Kaila of Katy, He was preceded in death by  his parents, Erwin William and Mary Bertha (Boettcher) Brendle. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus. Rev. Marcia Kifer officiated. Burial followed in the St. Anthony Catholic  Cemetery in Columbus. Pallbearers were Gene Moellenberg, Wayne Noak, Jim Holub, Carl Luckenbach, Gary Grayson,  and Kenneth Wienken.
