Eugene Joe Fajkus

Eugene Joe Fajkus, 83, of New Baden died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 at his residence. He was born on July 29, 1930 in Praha to Jim and Annie Fajkus. He married Lorine Psencik on June 1, 1954. He was an inspector before his  retirement. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He had been a resident of New Baden for the past 25 years previously living in Houston. He attended the St. Francis Catholic Church in Franklin. He was preceded in death by his two sisters: Sybil Tupa and Mary Ann Luna, 2 brothers: Edward Fajkus and Ivan Fajkus, Daughter-in-law: Becky Nichols Fajkus. He is survived by his wife; sons, Michael Fajkus, Anthony Fajkus and wife Dianna, Brian Fajkus and wife Tawni; brother, Ben J. Fajkus and wife Alice; six  granchildren, Anthony Fajkus, Jr., Kimberly Fajkus, Weston Fajkus, Kyle Fajkus, Lyndsi Fajkus and Heather Brockus; and four great-grandchildren. A visitation was held on
Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Services were held on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn. Burial followed in the Hostyn Cemetery. McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin was in charge of arrangements.
