Gregory Louis Gold

Gregory Louis Gold was born on Oct. 13, 1968 in Austin to Jerry Louis and Janelle Marie (Stanley) Gold. He attended Dime Box High School and graduated from Texas State University in 1993. Greg was united in marriage to Beth Shonka on Dec. 21, 1991. Greg had his own construction business in Bellville for many years and currently owned and operated

Rental Solutions in Giddings. He enjoyed music, dancing, camping, boating, vacationing and spending time with his family. He looked forward to his weekend getaways with Beth to enjoy a movie and eating out. Greg enjoyed life and loved adventures and challenges. His cup was never full and he always had a project that he was working on or beginning. His great love and relationship with his Lord is what brings comfort to his family now. Jeremy Grant Gold was born on June 28, 1974 in Austin to Jerry Louis and Janelle Marie  (Stanley) Gold. He graduated from Dime Box High School in 1992 and attended Blinn College in Brenham. He was united in marriage to Rachael Kipp on July 10, 1999 at St. John Lutheran Church in Dime Box. Jeremy owned and operated Gold Equipment Inc. for 19 years starting in Sealy  before relocating to Ledbetter in 1999. He enjoyed hunting, riding motorcycles, camping and boating and was the self-proclaimed captain of the S.S. RNWT aka “The Pontoon.” Jeremy was always building something or working on a project. His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends who he considered family. Jeremy always 

lived everyday of his life to the fullest, made the most of every moment he had and lived a lifetime in the 39 years he was

here. Though his time on this earth was shorter than any of us would have wanted, he left behind a lifetime of memories for us to treasure. Greg and Jeremy left this world in the same way that they spent their life, together. Their unexpected loss occurred the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 following a plane crash near Junction.  They were preceded in  death by their grandparents, Jerome Stanley and Jerry Annie Gold and infant twin brothers, Jimmy and Johnny Gold.

Greg is survived by his wife, Beth Gold of Ledbetter; his two daughters, Jessica Gold and Paige Gold both of Ledbetter;

his parents, Jerry and Janelle Gold of Ledbetter; his sister and brother-in-law, Ginger and Keith Kubena of Dime Box; his

grandmother, Elnora Stanley of Ledbetter; his sisters-in-law, Rachael Gold of Ledbetter, Judy Schultz and her husband, Ernest of Frenstat and Glenda Botkin of Caldwell; his brothers-in-law,  Richard Shonka of San Antonio and Terrill Shonka of Caldwell; nieces and nephews, Delaney Hirsch, Grant Gold, Judson Gold and Brooklyn Gold all of Ledbetter and Kasey, Klay and- Kourtney Kubena all of Dime Box, Rusty and Jennifer Plair, Linda and Paul Thornton, Carl and Helen Botkin, Richard Jr. and Chance Shonka and Shane and Shelly Shonka as well as  numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Jeremy is survived by his wife, Rachael Gold of Ledbetter; his four children, Delaney

Hirsch, Grant Gold, Judson Gold and Brooklyn Gold all of Ledbetter; his parents, Jerry and Janelle Gold of Ledbetter; his 

sister and brother-in-law, Ginger and Keith Kubena of Dime Box; his grandmother, Elnora Stanley of Ledbetter; his sistersin- law, Beth Gold of Ledbetter, Rebecca Vieh and her husband, Austin of Austin and Sarah Owens of Giddings; brother-in-law, Paul Kipp and his wife, Dana of Ledbetter; parents-in-law, Linda and Fred Owens of Giddings and Raymond and Ann Kipp of Ledbetter; grandmother-in-law, Annie Jenke of Giddings; nieces and nephews, Jessica Gold andher friend, Tony Trejo and Paige Gold of Ledbetter, Kasey, Klay and Kourtney Kubena all of Dime Box, Hannah and  Grayson Kipp both of Ledbetter and Emma Vieh of Austin as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Funeral services for Greg and Jeremy were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at the First Baptist Church located at 600 Sunrise Avenue in Giddings. Dennis Keen and Roger Millheim officiated. Burial followed 

in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Dime Box. Visitation was held on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 from 7 a.m. until 8 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. Serving as pallbearers for Greg was Barry Gold, Sam Cates, Mark Biehle, Paul Perez, Edwin Albrecht, Chris Langston, Kyle Jenke and Harden Camp. Honorary pallbearers were Kasey Kubena, Klay Kubena, Tony Trejo, Jordan Braun, Harold Linnedur, Jeff Bell, Jim Masterson and Allan Hoover. Serving as pallbearers for Jeremy was Paul Herzog, Lee Dobos, Billy Goerlitz, James Newman, Ryan Henderson, John Medack, Chris Lunbeck and Glen Horne. Honorary pallbearers were Trent Jatzlau, Red Wilson, Federico Guajardo, Johnny Gilbert, Fred Owens, Charles Crockett, John Green and Raymond Kipp.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Greg Gold Memorial Fund or The Jeremy Gold Memorial Fund which will be used for the future expenses of their children and can be made at Round Top State Bank. Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings was in charge of arrangements.
