Dorothy Mae Hentschel Wasut, 81, of Columbus died Nov. 20, 2013 in La Grange. She was born on Aug. 28, 1932 to Louis and Celestine (Kurtzman) Hentschel in La Grange. On July 29, 1950 she married Dennies Joe Wasut. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger and lived in the Columbus area since 1964. Dorothy is survived by her

daughters, Carolyn Sue Breneman and husband Marvin Lee of Burton, and Debra Ann Wasut of Columbus; sisters, Beatrice “Beetsy” Wasut and husband Clarence of Fayetteville, Helen Schlotterbeck of La Grange, and Patsy Hess and husband Jerry of La Grange; sister-in-law, Frances Hentschel of Fayetteville; brother-in-law, Alvin Mikes of Fayetteville; granddaughter, Stacie Lynn Breneman and special friend, Coty Plunk; and greatgranddaughter, Lacey Lynn Jordan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennies Joe Wasut; son, Dennies Wayne Wasut; two brothers,

Robert Hentschel, Sr. and Louis “Junior” Hentschel; sister, Shirley Mikes; and a brother-inlaw, Paul Schlotterbeck. Funeral services were held on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic  Church in Ellinger with Fr. Steve Sauser officiating. Burial took place in the La Grange City Cemetery in La Grange. Pallbearers were Billy Wasut, Nathan Hess, Jared Hess, Robert Hentschel, Jr., David Kulhanek and Gary Wagner.
