Black Friday Shopping – Not for Me
Black Friday, the Friday after Thanksgiving, is a truly American tradition. Many retail establishments advertise their best sales for this day. Many people will camp out all night, or even all week to try to get those one time only sales. The media has reported that the success of (or lack thereof) Black Friday sales sets the tone for the sales of the Christmas season.
But why is it called Black Friday? According to retailers it is because it is a day retailers make profits – black ink. If you talk to the employees, they will tell you that they are the ones who call it Black Friday because they work extra hard. It’s a long hard day for the employees.
