James Isaac Oakes

James Isaac Oakes, 58, of La Grange died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 in Austin. He was born Oct. 12, 1955 to Wilburn and Elizabeth (Brown) Oakes in Needville. He is survived by son Cassius and wife Glenda Oakes of Houston; sisters,  Barbara Oaks- Ladmirault of California, Ianthe Byrd of Las Vegas, Nev., Ester Bolden of Needville; brother Rueben Oakes of Needville; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in La Grange at 11 a.m. The Rev. Louis Zachary officated. 

Burial followed in the La Grange City Cemetery. Tommy E. Taylor Funeral Home in La Grange was in charge of  arrangements.
