Kermit Bruce Heinsohn, 88, of Fayetteville, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 at Monument Hill Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in La Grange. Kermit was born in Fayetteville on April 19, 1925 the son of Arnold and Laura (Onken)
Heinsohn. Kermit worked with furniture restoration, specializing in antique furniture. From 1951 to 1982 he worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural carrier. He served on the Fayetteville City Council, St. Paul Lutheran Church Council, Fayetteville City Cemetery Association and a member of the Masons. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gay Nell (Fritsch) Heinsohn; brother-in-law, Adrian Fritsch and wife, Virginia of Columbus; sister-in-law, Ruth (Fritsch) Marek and husband, J.D. of San Antonio; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, uncle, Alvin Onken and wife, Stella and Uncle Bennie Heinsohn.
Visitation was held on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Knesek Chapel in Fayetteville. Family received friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral Services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Fayetteville at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013. Burial followed at Fayetteville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 87, Fayetteville, Texas 78940 or a charity of one’s choice. Family and friends can view and sign the guestbook online at www.lagrangefunerals.com. Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home in La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
