Jerry V. Kallus

Jerry V. Kallus, 92, of La Grange died Dec. 17, 2013. Jerry was born Jan. 26, 1921 in La Grange the son of Richard J. Kallus and Frances Janda. He married Annie Humplik Jan. 24, 1949 in Corpus Christi. He was a retired aircraft  mechanic and served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange, Knights of Columbus 2574, 4th degree Knights of Columbus 1095, Holy Name Society, KJT Society 46, the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed gardening. He is survived by his wife, Annie; sister, Sister Helen Kallus of Lisle, Ill.; sister-in-law, Janie Kallus of Navasota; numerous nephews, nieces, greatnephews, great-nieces, greatgreat- nephews and great-great -nieces survive. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and three sisters. Visitation was held Thursday Dec. 19, 2013, from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange and from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange. The family received visitors from 4-6 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. at the church. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange. Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Hostyn. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund, Knights of Columbus 2574 Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz  Scholarship Fund or the charity of one’s choice. Fayette Memorial Funeral Home of La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
