Kathy Annette (Nelson) Hemeon,

Kathy Annette (Nelson) Hemeon, 71, of Rutersville, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013. Kathy was born in Houston on Aug. 9, 1942, the daughter of Ernest and Hazel (Harrison) Nelson. She married Larry Hemeon on Aug. 15, 1968 in Las Vegas, Nev. Kathy was an electronic assembly inspector in her earlier years and then became a fulltime homemaker to care for her children. Her many accomplishments included winning a trophy for ballroom dancing and becoming an expert crafter. She was a very friendly, loving person who became friends with everyone she met. She had a special enduring love for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 45 years; two daughters:Doreen Rucker of Rutersville; Robin Lynn Hemeon of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons: Michael Anthony Todd of Dewey-Humboldt, Ariz.; Richard Lee Todd of La Grange; brother, Buster Lee Hafer and wife, Sandy, of Edna; four grandchildren: Summer Ann Green, Joshua Cory Padilla, Tori Danielle Padilla and R. J. Ruelas. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother,  Donald Lee Nelson. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
