Melvin Edmund Roeder

Melvin Edmund Roeder, 77, of Shiner died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013. Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church with interment in the Shiner Catholic Cemetery. He was born Jan. 6, 1936 in Shiner, the son of Edmund and Dorothea (Blier) Roeder. He married Janet Janicek Sept. 17. 1956 in Shiner. He was coowner of Roeder’s Mobile Feed Mill for 12 years and worked as a controller for Purina Mills in Gonzales for 27  years. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Janet; son, Mark Roeder (Nancy) of Round Rock; two daughters, Sherry Schena (Angelo) of Bastrop and Gwen Seiley (Terry) of Shiner; one sister, Edwarda Roeder of Shiner; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Buffington Funeral Home of Shiner was in charge of arrangements.
