Maydell (Madie) Hall Lewallen,

Maydell (Madie) Hall Lewallen, 92, of Snyder died Dec. 20, 2013 in Ruidoso, N.M., while visiting her daughter, Becky Obregon and husband, Greg. Madie was born Nov. 8, 1921, in Bedias, to Frank and Katy Nevada Hall, and was the youngest of five children. She attended high school in Colorado City and graduated at 16. In 1942, she met her late  husband, William Pershing (W.P.), while attending a matched roping  in Midland. William was in the Army Air Force and was stationed in Childress. They married Nov. 28, 1942. He died Sept. 17, 1966 of heart conditions. Madie is survived by her daughters, Monette Taylor and husband Ed of La Grange; Becky Obregon and husband Greg of Alto, N.M.; Dianne Salton and husband Aaron of Gladewater; Delores Lawson and husband Mike of Gladewater; and son, Bryan Lewallen and wife Fabiola of Surbaya, Indonesia. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Michelle Guinn of New Braunfels; Tara Thompson of Austin; Veronica Obregon of San Antonio; Cristina Obregon Seymore of Ruidoso, N.M.; Sierra Salton of Tulsa, Okla.; Vanessa McGraw of Big Sandy; William Lewallen of Washington, D.C.; Nick Lewallen of Charlotte, N.C.; Herbert Taylor of San Rafael, Calif.; Trevor Taylor of West Point; and Diane Lawson of Dallas. Other survivors include 11 greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Colonial Hill Baptist Church in Snyder on Dec. 22, 2013, where Madie was a long time member. Burial was at the Hillside Memorial Cemetery next to her late husband.
