Medicare Ambulance Service No Longer An Almost “Free Ride”

EMS chief Sharon Muzny told county commissioners last week that Medicare is still refusing to reimburse her agency for

some ambulance transports. “We’re having more inquiries from patients and family members and we’re doing a lot

more appeals,” Muzny said. Asked later if those appeals are usually successful, she said “No.”
