Josefa Orellana Kennedy, 99, of Flatonia died Jan. 21, 2014. Josefa “Grandma” was born Oct. 12, 1914 in Honduras,

C.A. In Grandma’s early years she was a nanny for the Consulate of Honduras to the United States, leading her into many years of caregiving, in addition to enjoying traveling, reading and reciting poetry. Those who knew Grandma, (as most knew her, even her peers), would likely say she was a sweet spirited lady. Grandma led a full life with many journeys, and a trail of great memories and love to fill the hearts of many. She is survived by brothers, Juan Angel  Orellana Reyes and Jose Orellana Reyes; sisters, Margarita Orellana Elvir and Angela Orellana Reyes; daughters,

Nora Valencia- Miller, Georgeanna Ocasio, Sula Gregg and Rita Ocasio; grandchildren, Rebecca M. (Brent) Greuter,

Jennifer M. Miller, Analisa Tipton, Justine Tipton, Gina (Joe) Mendiola and Pete Frietas, Noel Ocasio ; great  randchildren,

Gabriel Greuter, Estella Tipton, Nicole Tipton, Dena Tipton, Giovani Tipton, Angelica Freitas and Marina Mendiola and a very recent great-greatgrandchild “Baby Girl.” She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfredo R.  Valencia; parents, Jose Angel Orellana and Gertrudis Reyes; brothers, Francisco Orellana  Reyes, Salvador Orellana Reyes, Isaias Orellana Reyes and Transito Orellana Reyes; sister, Carmen Orellana Reyes, granddaughter Julianna Oliveras, son-in-laws Mike Miller, and Arthur Tipton.
