Charles Northrop Peck

Charles Northrop Peck, III died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014. He was born in St. Louis, Mo. on Aug. 8 1919, to Maybelle Price Peck and Charles Northrop Peck Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Carol Peck Harper and Susan Peck Massey, Carol’s husband Tommy; two sons, Thomas Harper, IV, his wife Taylor and their two children Tommy and Ferrell, William Harper his wife Mary and their daughter Flora, Susan’s husband Fred, their sons Mark Monroe Massey and Owen Neal Massey, Owen’s wife Sofia, and their two sons Northrop Robert Massey and Miles Fred Massey. He is also survived by his sister Suzanne Peck Cain and her children Carolyn Cain Bates, James Walker Cain and Allison Cain.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Carolyn Monroe Peck. He graduated from Lamar High School and attended The University of Texas where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He was a charter member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. Northrop served in the US Marine Corp as a flight instructor and pilot during World War II. Upon return to Houston, he began a career as a homebuilder, was a member of  Houston Country Club and was
involved in many civic activities in Round Top. His passions were farming, flying, racing boats and cars. He was a devoted husband, wonderful father and true gentleman. He passed in peace with his family at his side. The family 
would like to thank Sylvia Crake, Nellie Dyer, Brededier Grant, Virginia Hall, Doris Johnson, Eddye Joyce Tealer
and Mary Thompson for all their care and loving support. The family gathered for a private memorial service on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family suggests that memorial contributions may bemade to your favorite charity. “To all my friends still living, semper fidelis.”-Northrop
