Stephen Wear Bartlett

Stephen Wear Bartlett, 86, of La Grange died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 at South Austin Medical Center. He was born in Worcester, Mass. on Jan. 9, 1928, the son of Carl and Beatrice (Wear) Bartlett. Stephen spent more than twenty years in the U.S. Marine Corps ending his career as a Captain. He spoke five languages, working in JAG before retiring from the U.S. Marine Corps. He was always a Marine, but had a tender side of himself for his grandchildren and was a very funny and a smart person. He worked as an Attorney and retired after thirty-five years. He is survived by daughter, Jeanne  Schilling and husband,  Richard, of Fayetteville; two sons, Martin Bartlett, Jr. of Missoula, Mont., and Stephen Bartlett
and wife, Tracey, of Rosharon; sister, Judy Spears and husband, Bob, of Alexandria, Va; seven grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Jean Milner. Memorial services will be
held at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home in La Grange at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014. Memorial contributions may
