Dress Code and Teacher Respect
At the school board meeting Monday night, a letter was read requesting the school revisit the policy of male faculty having facial hair. This sparked a discussion of how dress codes have changed over the years and made me think about things that I have seen in my lifetime. Teachers have always been held to a higher standard than the rest of the world, (or so it seems to me.) But over the years, those standards have changed. In the past, teachers were expected to dress professionally, even when the job they had required them to crawl around on the floor with young children
