Clearer Picture of LG Murder Suspect Emerges After Testimony

Derrick McKenzie, a 17-year-old La Grange native facing multiple charges including auto theft, murder and aggravated 

assault on a public servant, was found competent to stand trial on the assault charge in a Victoria hearing last week. In the Victoria incident, Mc- Kenzie was charged with beating a Mid-Coast Family Services counselor while at the Victoria Regional Juvenile Justice Center in September
