Lou Scott

Lou Scott died March 31, 2014 at Park Place Nursing Home in Georgetown. She had lived in Florence since 1985 where she was known as the “Library Lady” for her volunteer work at the public library. She was born in Del Valle on March 12, 1925 to Henry and Callie Barber. She graduated from Austin High School in 1942. She married Joseph Scott in March  1948. He joined the Methodist Ministry in 1955 and his assignments included Leesville, Flatonia, Paint Rock, Rocksprings, Karnes City, La Grange, Big Lake, and Liberty Hill. Survivors include two children, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband. Visitation will be held Friday,

April 4, 2014 at Austin-Peel & Son Funeral Home from 6 to 8. Services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Methodist

Church Florence.
