Bernice Marie (Parma) Kulhanek

Bernice Marie (Parma) Kulhanek, 93, of La Grange, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange. Bernice was born in La Grange on Aug. 8, 1920, the daughter of Joe and Frances Parma. She married Edwin Charles Kulhanek on June 3, 1940 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Plum. Bernice worked as an office nurse for Dr. Zatopek and also worked as a kindergarten teacher’s aid. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altar Society and Ladies’ Auxiliary. She is survived by one daughter, Jana Kulhanek of La Grange; two sons: Mike Kulhanek of La Grange and Chad Kulhanek and wife, Susan, of Plum; three grandchildren: Casey Kulhanek, Katie Janda and

husband, Kyle, and Adam Kulhanek; great-grandchild, Sophie Rose Janda; and special friend and relative, Joyce Rohde.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years, Edwin Kulhanek; sister, Fannie Mae Feliksiak; and

two brothers: Eddie and Joe Parma. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Koenig &

Strickland Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6 to  8 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 539 E. Pearl St. in La Grange, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Burial will follow at La Grange City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to La Grange Volunteer Fire Department, 155 E. Colorado, La Grange, Texas 78945.
