Trenda Kaye (Thrasher) James

Trenda Kaye (Thrasher) James, 55, of La Grange, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 in Horseshoe Bay. Trenda was born in Fort Worth on Oct. 30, 1958, the daughter of Shirley Pugh Thrasher and the late Robert “Bob” R. Thrasher. She married Donald James on June 11, 1979 in San Angelo.  Trenda was the owner of Texas Rural Health Services, servicing the mentally challenged adult community of Lee and Fayette Counties. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of La Grange. Trenda had a great love for  animals, inherited from her dad, from a small age. She especially had a fondness for small dogs, and had a constant companion, Kye, a tiny white maltese that she carried in her purse. She especially enjoyed cookouts with friends and family at the farm and at the lake. She and her extended family had many frequent and fun trips “floating” the Frio, Comal and Guadalupe River. Music has also always been a big part of her life.
Trenda is survived by husband, Donald James; two daughters: Jessica James of San Diego, Calif., and Kelsey James of Austin; mother, Shirley Thrasher of La Grange; sister, Vicki Blair and husband, Bobby, of Lubbock; three nieces:  Whitney Blair Walden and husband, Ashton, of Lubbock; Mackenzie Blair Laine and husband, Brian, of Houston; Alexandra Blair Campos and husband, Kristofer, of Augusta, Ga.; great nephew, Weston Bradley Walden; and her beloved canine companion, Kye. She is also survived by numerous cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Richard Thrasher, and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Couch James. Viewing will be on Friday,
April 25, 2014, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the family will be available for visitation on Saturday, April 26, 2014, from 10
a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at First Presbyterian Church, 205
S. Franklin St. in La Grange, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014. Burial will follow at Winchester Cemetery in inchester.
