Violet Ruth (Friemel) Mischer

Violet Ruth (Friemel) Mischer, 84, of La Grange died Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Austin Heart Hospital. Violet was born in Fayette County on Jan. 29, 1930, the daughter of Viola (Schaefer) and Rudolph Friemel. Violet’s father, Rudolph, served in the U.S. Army. From an early age, she helped her parents who farmed for a living. She attended La Grange High

School where she was a member of the drill team. Violet married Gilbert Mischer on Jan. 3, 1953 and they were married for 54 years until his death in February 2007. She worked for the Royal Crown Bottling Company and Fayette Memorial Hospital. Violet was a devout Christian and her loving nature and  contagious smile touched the hearts of all those she met. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville. She is survived by daughter, Diana Mischer Glynn and husband Thomas of La Grange; two granddaughters: Stacey Glynn of Austin and Jennifer Schattle and husband, Kevin of Austin; one great granddaughter, Malory Schattle. She was preceded in death by her parents; Rudolph and

Viola Friemel; her husband, Gilbert Mischer; and two daughters, Donna and Debra Mischer. Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Funeral Services were held at St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014.
