Prayer Is Okay, Amen

Three weeks ago the Supreme Court of the United States reversed a lower court judgment and concluded that a town council’s opening prayer does not violate the Constitution. The decision followed a challenge that the Town of Greece, New York, was violating the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause and endorsing Christianity. Those bringing that charge had sought to limit the town to ecumenical prayers and a “generic God.”
