Kicking Past the Competition

 Right now the attention of millions of people around the world is focused on soccer as the World Cup begins in Brazil.

Closer to home, a group of local boys has been raising the profile of local soccer. A local 14-under selected soccer team coached by Fernando Gutierrez began competing around the state as part of the Bastrop Youth Soccer Organization

and ended up finishing with a record of 7-1-3 and was third out of the 12 teams in the division.
