Lloyd Harold Moerbe

Lloyd Harold Moerbe, 88, of La Grange, died Monday, June 30, 2014 at St. David’s Medical Center in Austin. Lloyd was born in McAllen on May 27, 1926, the son of Herman and Rosie (Hrbacek) Moerbe. He married Dorothy Faldyn on June 2, 1956 in Houston. Lloyd worked as a truck driver. He also farmed most of his life and enjoyed working with his cattle. He loved to barbeque and catered for many weddings. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of 58 years; brother, Herbert “Check” Moerbe and wife, Rosalie “Rosie”; sister, Lillian “Rody” Buscha, all of La Grange; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Elsie Kominczak and Gladys Peters

and two brothers: Edwin “Shorty” and Clinton Moerbe. Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Services were held at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 800 N. Franklin in La Grange at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014. Burial followed at La Grange City Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Calvary
