Gary Wayne Reaves
Gary Wayne Reaves, 66, of Killeen, died Thursday, July 10, 2014 following a long illness. His family members were at is
side. Born in Houston, Gary grew up partly in that city and partly in the countryside and small towns of South Central
Texas that he loved. In high school, Gary was an excellent baseball and basketball player, but his lifelong passions were
fishing and hunting. After graduating from Cypress- Fairbanks High School in Houston in 1966, Gary joined the Houston Police Department. He spent almost three decades in law enforcement, including chief of police in Schulenburg and as chief deputy sheriff in Fayette County. He is survived by his wife Sandra of Houston; sisters Jackie Hays of Humble, Gayle Reaves-King of Fort Worth, and Bonnie Pruett and her husband David of New Ulm; son Wayne of Killeen; daughter Michelle; stepdaughter Tracey Robison and stepsons Scott, Dusty, and Donny Clark, all of Houston; as well as nieces, nephews, greatnephews, and grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Clyde Reaves and Patricia Amy Mc- Cluskey Reaves. A memorial service will be held on Aug. 9 at 11 a.m., at the Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home Chapel, 701 S. Main St. in Schulenburg.
