Oscar G. Johnson

Oscar G. Johnson, 83, of La Grange died Saturday, July 19, 2014. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 26, 2014 at  3 p.m. at Second Baptist Church in La Grange. Burial was in St. Matthews Church Cemetery in La Grange. Oscar was born in Columbus on Dec. 29, 1930, the son of Edmond Johnson and Jesse M. (Scott) Alley. He married Eddie Lee Caldwell on June 29, 1963. Oscar was employed as a Spiker at MKT Railroad. He was a member of St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church. Oscar is survived by his wife; three daughters, Jackie Spears of Killeen, Bettie Joe Toliver-Bullock of Houston, and Yolanda Hurd of La Grange; one son, Marcus Darden of La Grange; two brothers, Eddie Johnson of Houston, Robert  Johnson of San Antonio; four sisters, Gussie Samuels and Macy Jones of Midland, Rita Allen of Houston, and Brenda Hill of California.
