Quintes Gebhard
Quintes Gebhard, 97, of Round Top died Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Gazebo Terrace Nursing Home in Brenham. Quintes was born in Round Top on Sept. 26, 1916, the s n of Alfred and Hulda (Spiess) Gebhard. He married Pearly Kruse on Jan. 27, 1946 in Warrenton. Quintes served in the U.S. Army from 1939-1940. He was a self-employed painter and carpenter until his retirement. He also was a farmer and cattle rancher. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Levien and husband, Larry, of Round Top; son, Quintes Gebhard, Jr. and wife, Charlene, of Brenham; three sisters-in-law: Talitha Gebhard of Fayetteville, Una Mae Haney of Bryan and Janet Roeder of Shiner; four grandchildren: Luke Levien and wife, Mary, of Bryan, Landon Levien of Round Top, Lacy Boggan and husband, Ethan, of Washington, Mary Lou Ocanas and husband, Eddie, of Brenham; four greatgrandchildren: Hoyt and Coby Boggan, Aiden and Aderes Ocanas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pearly Gebhard, of 52 years; two brothers: Hilmer and Elgin Gebhard; two sisters-in-law: Minnie Gebhard and Irma Kruse; two brothersin- law: Lee Kruse and Melvin Roeder; and great granddaughter, Nayeli Ocanas. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 412 S. White St. in Round Top, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014. Burial will follow at Haw Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Family and friends can view and sign the guestbook online at www.lagrangefunerals.com.
