Cooper Johnson
Cooper Johnson, 92, of Flatonia died Aug. 11, 2014. Cooper was born Nov. 15, 1921 in Old Moulton to the late James Louis and Iola Cooper Johnson. He was a public weigher at the cattle auctions in Flatonia, Columbus, La Grange, El Campo, Lexington, Hallettsville, Caldwell and Seguin. Cooper was also a member of the Flatonia Masonic Lodge, Flatonia American Legion and a WWII Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Johnson of Flatonia one son, Eric Albers and wife Tracey of Hutto; two daughters, Susan Johnson of Poland and Peggy Halamicek of Schulenburg;
two step-daughters, Rachel Bevavides and husband Carlos of Flower Mound and Michelle Acosta and husband Jose of
Flower Mound; two brothers, David Johnson of San Antonio and Johnny Johnson of Bay City; two sisters, Dorothy Schubert of San Antonio and Fern Profiri of Austin; grandchildren, John Harkrider and wife Eloisa and Kaycee Albers; step-grandchildren, Macie, Darian and Paxton Benavides, Bayleigh, Delany and Remy Acosta; great-grandchildren, Gabriela and Mark Harkrider, Carlos Elarba and Andres Elarba. Pallbearers include Daniel and Jimmy Johnson, Toby Homuth, Tommy Tipton, Clifford Wenske and John Harkrider. Cooper is preceded in death by two brothers, Woodrow and Glenn Johnson; four sisters, Irene Wenske, Laura Zouzalik, Gertrude Branecky, and Winnie Bohnstedt; and one grandson, Karl Halamicek. Visitation was held at Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014
with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Friday, Aug. 15, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home
