Orgill Warren Potts

Orgill Warren Potts, 85, of La Grange died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014 at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus.

Orgill was born in Woodbine on Aug. 12, 1929, the son of Joe and Myrtle (South) Potts. He was a graduate of Durant

(Oklahoma) High School, class of 1947. Orgill served 26 years in the U.S. Air Force in the Air Defense Command. After retiring as Master Sargent, he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for another 18 years. He is survived by his wife,

Doris Elaine (Thompson) Potts; daughter, Janet Murphy and husband, Ed, of La Grange; two grandchildren: Megan Huffstutler and husband, Shane, of Ft. Worth; and Jenna Murphy of Houston; great-granddaughter, Calyn Huffstutler of Fort Worth; brother, Jerry Potts and wife, Lanora, of Dallas; and sister, Sue Pace of Fresno, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Dorace Watson. A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church in La Grange at 3 p.m. on Aug. 30, 2014.
