Mary Ruby (Kulhanek) Kasmiersky

Mary Ruby (Kulhanek) Kasmiersky, 94, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014. Mary was born in the Pisck Community in Texas on Feb. 2, 1920, the daughter of Lawrence and Millie (Coufal) Kulhanek. She married Robert Kasmiersky, Sr. on Sept. 24, 1940. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, gardening, helping with the family farm, playing the card game “Stick” and spending time with family. She had a passion for history and family genealogy.

She was always lending a helping hand to friends and neighbors. Mary welcomed everyone into her home with a cup of coffee and homemade kolaches. No one ever left hungry. Mary was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America; Altar Society of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger; KJZT; and the Fayette County Home Demonstration Club. She is survived by two daughters: Barbara Haupert of New Braunfels; and Rebecca Quinn and husband, Mark of Melissa; son, Robert Kasmiersky, Jr. of Fayetteville; ten grandchildren; twenty greatgrandchildren;  two sisters-inlaw: Loraine  Kasmiersky of La Grange and Dottie Kasmiersky of Houston and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Lorena Hrachovy and husband, 

Adolph and Bernice Supak and husband, Arnold and son-in-law, Gaston Haupert. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014 from 3 to 7 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, located at 815 St. Mary’s Church Road in Ellinger. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014. Burial will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Fayetteville.
