Arnold Kneblik, 96, of the Lone Oak Community died September 5, 2014 in Columbus. He was born on Dec. 5, 1917 
to Frank and Helen (Krenek) Kneblik in Frelsburg. On Oct. 23, 1951 he married Evelyn Sylvia Vasek in Fayetteville.
Arnold was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg. He served his country in the Army during WW II as a cook in an Infantry Company in Alaska. He prepared food for his troops and was familiar with regulations governing kitchen sanitation and observed best principles of dietetics, regulating fires and set thermostatic controls to insure proper temperatures for various foods. He also trained student cooks. In his earlier years, he worked for Moeller Feed Mill in
Lone Oak. Arnold was a farmer and lived his lifetime in the Lone Oak area. Arnold is survived by his wife of 62 years,  Evelyn Kneblik of Lone Oak; daughter, Carolyn Canik and husband Al Gene of Frelsburg; son, Jimmy Kneblik and wife Kathy of Lone Oak; brother, Victor Havel of Rockhouse Community; six grandchildren, Bradley Kneblik and wife Dawn, Aaron Canik, Alyssa Bookout and husband Nathan, Lori Grissom and husband  Jerry, Ashley Glueck and husband Joseph and Chelsea Kneblik and fiancé Clayton Bubak; 12 great-grandchildren, Brandon and Bailey Grissom, Ridge Hale, Keegan Grissom, Trenton and Braxton Kneblik, Austin and Alana Canik, Mitchell and Addison Bookout, and Emerson and Isabella Glueck; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Helen (Krenek) Kneblik, his sisters, Bridgette Scherdick, Alma Trilicek, and an infant sister, Gladys Kneblik, and brother, Nick Kneblik. Also  preceding him in death were step-sisters and stepbrothers. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg with Fr. Wayne Flagg officiating. Burial will take place in Sts. Peter
& Paul Catholic Cemetery in Frelsburg. Pallbearers were Bradley Kneblik, Aaron Canik, Jerry Grissom, Nathan Bookout,
Joseph Glueck, and Clayton Bubak. Honorary pallbearers were his granddaughters, Alyssa Bookout, Lori Grissom, Ashley
Glueck and Chelsea Kneblik. Memorials are suggested to the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 1031 Church Ln., New
Ulm, Texas 78950; or Frelsburg Volunteer Fire Dept., 2319 FM 1291, New Ulm, Texas 78950; or charity of your choice.
