Grace Elsie (Braun) Hinze, 92, of Round Top, died Sept. 30, 2014, at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Hinze will lie in state at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham from 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3 until 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4. She will lie in state at Foehner  Funeral Home in Burton beginning at noon Saturday, Oct. 4. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4 at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top with Pastor David Tinker officiating. Burial will be in Isaac Hill Cemetery at Round Top. Mrs. Hinze was born Nov. 6, 1921, at home near Round Top in Fayette County, to Willie  J. and Laura (Emmrich) Braun. She was baptized Feb. 12, 1922 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top by Rev. A.H. Falkenberg and was confirmed Sept. 29, 1935 in the same church by Rev. Walter Kralik. On May 7, 1940, she was married to Clarence Hinze at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top by Rev. Walter Kralik. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top, where she was active in the Ruth Circle. She was active in Round Top Sons of Hermann, where she served as a  guide for 33 years, and she received the Humanitarian Award in 1995 and again in 2007. She was also a member of the Round Top-Warrenton Fire Department. One of her hobbies was crocheting and she crocheted a bedspread for each of her 10 grandchildren, who were her pride  and joy. Other hobbies were gardening, baking, sewing and fishing. After she and her husband retired from the chicken and egg business, she was employed as a cook at Festival Hill. Survivors include her son, Billie T. Hinze and wife Darlene of Round Top; daughter, Judy M. Matula and husband Jerry of Brenham; daughter-inlaw, Maxine (Mueller) Hinze of College Station; brother, Floyd Braun and wife Jocie of Carmine; sisters, Sylvia Hughey Truitt of Round Rock; and sisters-in-law and brothers-inlaw, Ira Mae Hinze of Carmine, Ruby and Raymond Lehmann of Ledbetter and Raymond Kuretsch of Ganado; grandchildren, Bradley Muesse, Sharlyne Friedrich, Danny Muesse, Patricia Gerthe, Terry Matula, Garrett Hinze, Jeffry Hinze, Alyson Hinze, Jacob Hinze and Justin Hinze; and great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan and Paden Muesse, Dalton, Lucas and Grace Friedrich, Blake and Megan Muesse, Samantha and Matthew Gerthe, Evan Matula and Ethan Deichler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Hinze; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Franklin Muesse; son, Jimmie Hinze; and sisters, Lorene Hartfiel and Verlie Kuretsch. Pallbearers will be Garrett Hinze, Jeffry Hinze, Terry Matula, Bradley Muesse, Danny Muesse and Justin Hinze. Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Isaac Hill Cemetery.
