Pamela Jean Votaw Hughes, 48, of Weimar, died Nov. 11, 2014 in Weimar. She was born on Sept. 20, 1966 to Edwin and Gertrude (Hoffmann) Votaw in Weimar. On Sept. 20, 1987 Pamela married Thomas K. Hughes. She worked as an assistant manager for Speedy Stop Convenience Store in Schulenburg. Pamela is survived by her husband, Tom Hughes of Weimar; father, Edwin Votaw of Weimar; sons, John Hughes II of Weimar, and Dustin Hughes of Weimar; sister, Sherry Votaw Huebel and husband Ronnie Huebel of Columbus; half-sisters, Charlotte Hoffmann Rau
of Deer Park, Margaret Votaw Spier and husband Benjamin Spier of Lindale, Virginia “Ginger” Hoffmann Friemel and
husband Frankie Friemel of La Grange, Marilyn Votaw Kalinec and husband Walter Kalinec of Houston, Phyllis Votaw Koopmann of Lake Port, and Lisa Hoffmann Moellenberndt and husband Frank Moellenberndt of La Grange; half-brothers, Richard Bjerke, Sr. and wife Phyllis Gray Bjerke of Sour Lake, Roger Hoffmann of La Grange, Edwin Michael Votaw and wife Bettye Nicholson Votaw of Arp, and Charles Hoffmann and wife Barbara Pierce Hoffmann of Temple; brothersin- law, Michael Hughes, Jimmy Hughes, Peter Hughes, Sean Hughes, Rob Hughes, Chris Hughes, and Matt Hughes; sisters- in-law, Nancy Benoit and Kerry McGlenn; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Hoffmann Votaw and brother-in-law Roy W. Rau.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014 at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus with Deacon Joey Targac officiating. Burial with Military Honors by the US Air Force took place in Weimar Masonic Cemetery in Weimar.
Pallbearers were John Hughes, Dustin Hughes, Charles Hoffmann, Michael Hughes, Greg Thomas, Jeff Hoffmann, Charles Friemel and Sam Kalinec.
