Paul Lee Casares, 59, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014. Paul was born June 17, 1955 in San Antonio. He was raised  and attended school in Poth. After graduating high school he attended Texas A&I University where he received his BS in Agriculture and met wife Nelda. He was a resident of Pleasanton for the last twenty two years. He grew up in agriculture,
working in the family grain and fertilizer business and in 1980 he and Nelda started an oilfield service company. His favorite hobby was working. He was never happier than when he was in the field, except when he was with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was also an avid rancher. Paul is survived by his wife, Nelda Casares; children, Courtney Lee Mayfield and husband Chip and Christina Evins and husband Jesse; grandchildren, Dixie Lee Mayfield, Pepper Mayfield and Cotton Mayfield. He is also survived by his parents, Paul Louis Casares of San Antonio and Mary Agnes Casares of Poth and brother, Bert Casares of Poth.
Visitation was held Friday,  Nov. 28, 2014 from 2 to 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel, located at 118 W. Oaklawn Rd. in Pleasanton. A funeral mass was given on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 626 Market St. in Pleasanton. A private interment will follow.
