Quinton Lesley Hackemack
Quinton Lesley Hackemack, 88, passed away peacefully Dec. 10, 2014 in El Cerrito, Calif. Quinton was loved by all who knew him and his easygoing, southern gentlemen ways with his never ending sense of humor. Quinton was born on April 21, 1926 and grew up outside of Round Top. He enlisted with the Navy at the age of 18, towards the end of WWII. He served on the USS Dortch and carried with him many good memories despite the war. After the war, he moved to Houston and went to work for Hughes Tool as a machinist. While in Houston, he met his wife Blanche. They married in November of 1953 and had two children. After Blanche Died in 1977, Quinton fell in love again in 1985 with Doris Shannon. He and Doris were together until she died in 2008. Quinton then moved to California to be with his daughter Patricia,. He lived with her until his stroke in 2010. Quinton lived at a lovely Board and Care facility only two miles from his daughter Patricia until he died. Quinton will be greatly missed by his children: Patricia Lynn Hackemack and David Allen Hackemack; and Doris Shannon’s children Tara Murski, Jon Shannon, and Kyle Shannon; brothers Elwood Hackemack and Kurby Hackemack; as well as their families and other nieces and newphews. In addition to his two loves, Quinton is proceeded in death by five brothers and one sister and Dorris Shannon’s daugher Andrea and grandson Simon.
