Carmine’s Webster Hopes to Win House Seat

Former Fayette County Democratic Party chair Cecil Webster of Carmine has announced his candidacy for the State House of Representatives in House District 13, the seven-county area formerly represented by Lois Kolkhorst of Brenham. Kolkhorst was recently elected to fill former state senator Glen Hegar’s seat in the State Senate. Webster has three opponents, all Republicans, in the special election (Brenham businessman Roger Chambers has dropped out), the date of which has yet to be announced by Governor Rick Perry.
