Bernice (Seidenberger) Lobpries, 93, of La Grange died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange. Bernice was born in Schulenburg on Jan. 14, 1921, the daughter of Ferdinand and Agnes (Stanzel) Seidenberger. She married Fritz Lobpries on Aug. 17, 1940. She was a devoted homemaker and loving wife, who loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to dance, play bridge and dominoes. Bernice was a big fan of the Texas Longhorns and the Houston Astros. Bernice was a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society, Sacred Heart PTA, American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, and a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Annunciation #1962. She is survived by son, Mike Lobpries and wife, Fran of Dallas; two daughters: Becky Wessels of La Grange; and Tina Gougler and husband, Duane, of Huntsville; eight grandchildren: Janet Henry and husband, Beau; Lawrence Lobpries and wife, Michelle; Ben Lobpries; Kris Parker and husband, Mark; Anthony Wessels and Donna Webb; Stefanie Hefner and husband, Jody; Phil Gougler and Kaci Bollom; and Cody Gougler; 16 great-grandchildren: Braden, Brynn and Brooke Henry; Kate, Jill, Rory and Brad Lobpries; Sutton, Emerson and Tripp Parker; Charlee and Kash Wessels; Kaylee and Brayden Flowers; and Skylar and Cheyenne Hefner; two sisters-in-law: Helen Green of El Campo and Miriam Seidenberger of Austin; brother-in-law, Roland Childress of Austin; and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fritz Lobpries; two sisters: Cleo Schroeder and Bootzie Childress; brother, Clarence Seidenberger; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Services were held at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home, at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015. Burial followed at La Grange City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Court Annunciation #1962, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Scholarship Fund, P.O.
