Lucille Marie Reuter
Lucille Marie Reuter was born on Dec. 26, 1935 near Burton in Washington County to Otto and Emma Mueller and died Feb. 16, 2015. She attended Burton and La Grange School. She moved to Rutersville at an early age after her father’s death. She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville. On July 31, 1955, she married Delvin Reuter at St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville. They were blessed with four children. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Wallis, Wallis Legion Auxiliary, and Rosenberg Lodge of the Sons of Herman. She served as Unit President for Wallis American Legion Auxiliary Post #200 and 9th District President. She also served as President of the Orchard Cemetery Association. She loved to travel, especially the trip to Germany where her husband was stationed while in the army. She also loved to play bingo at the Ft. Bend Seniors and spending time with her grandchildren and great grand children. Lucille moved to Orchard in April 1973 with her family. She retired from Kroger after 17 years to help take care of her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents: Otto and Emma Mueller, Son: Donald Reuter, Brothers; Melvin Mueller, Wilford Mueller, Otto Mueller, and Milroy Mueller, and sister: Evelyn Mueller. She is survived by: her husband of 59 years, Delvin Reuter; children: Carrie Sliva and husband Kenneth of Orchard, Trish White and husband Dennis of Damon, Pamela Henry and husband Marvin of Orchard; grandchildren: Donna Butler and husband Nick of Wallis, Devin White of Mt. Laurel, N.J., Travis Henry of Imperial, Pa., Cody Henry of Orchard, Jessica Gangl and husband Aric of Orchard, and Jason Sliva of Orchard; and great grandchildren: Zoë, James, and Brett Butler of Wallis. Visitation was held at Knesek Funeral Home in Wallis on Thursday, Feb. 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Feb. 20 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wallis with Rev. Kirstin Springmeyer officiating. Interment followed at Orchard Cemetery. Pallbearers were Travis Henry, Devin White, Cody Henry, Jason Sliva, Aric Gangl, Nick Butler, John Bilski and Bruce Mueller. Knesek Funeral Home in Wallis is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wallis.
