Florine Margaret (Veith) Schmidt

Florine Margaret (Veith) Schmidt, 80, of Industry died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at Brenham Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Florine was born in the Rockhouse community in Austin County on Nov. 2, 1934, the daughter of Walter and Nathalie (Koch) Veith. She married Alton Schmidt on June 27, 1953 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby. Florine worked in the Aldine ISD Cafeteria as a Manager for 19 years. Florine loved to polka dance and enjoyed playing  dominos. She is survived by her husband, Alton, of sixty-one years; two sons: Alvis Walter Schmidt and wife, Nola, of Nacogdoches; Douglas Allen Schmidt and wife, Vicki, of Caldwell; sister, Waldine Corine Banik of Round Top; six grandchildren: Chris Bendon and wife, Niah; Jennifer Schmidt; David Schmidt; Christina Pettit and husband, Jonathan; Douglas Burns and wife, Laura; David Burns and wife, Jennifer; eight great grandchildren: Karlie, Emory, Carolyn, Joshua, Madelyn, Abigail, Ryan and Samantha. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Olivia Schmidt.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Zaskoda Chapel, 2280 Main St. in Industry. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church,

6814 Skull Creek Rd. in Shelby at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015. Burial will follow at Shelby Cemetery.
